The single-episode OVA adaptation of To Aru Kagaku no Railgun follows the previous year's TV anime series, and its release comes shortly after the start of the second To Aru Majutsu no Index TV anime series, also in October 2010. As usual adapted by studio J.C. Staff., this OVA is based on the 'Railgun spin-off manga derived from Kazuma Kamachi's original 'Index novels.
