The anime film Kizumonogatari is created by studio Shaft, based on the single-volume light novel of the same title written by NisiOisin. This is the third anime project based on a NisiOisin work, after the 2009 TV anime series Bakemonogatari, and the 2010 anime Katanagatari. The story of Kizumonogatari - originally titled Koyomi Vamp - serves as a prequel to Bakemonogatari.

people if u hav come this far u will have to watch the movie, it is none like any other, if Akiyuki Shinbo manages to pull it off like in the anime, then this will be an amazing movie.I've just finished reading kizumonogatari,the action is just fast,brutal,gory and desperate, the shinobu & koyomi relationship is unbelievably unique.I am personally guaranteeing u that Nisio Isin sensei has written a BOSS of a story, the anti-climax of the light novel is just plain stupefyingly awesome, that's it.

I read the novel and it was good. I mean REALLY GOOD.
I also watched Bakemonogatari again after that and I finally found out the significance of Shinobu's name.
(Does this mean I'm an idiot) I didnt understand how important it was when Oshino explained her name. LOL
