The TV anime series Solty Rei was co-created by studios Gonzo and AIC (Anime International Company), as a post-apocalyptic action / drama work. The futuristic story is set in a disaster-ridden city with a huge gap between the rich and the poor, among a population that has embraced cybernetic modifications. The titular character Solty is an android girl of unbelievable strength, who rescues Roy Revant - a renegade bounty hunter - from a particularly dangerous criminal. The two team up and, along with a few others, they engage in a battle to find out the truth behind the giant conglomerates that are supposedly serving mankind and making life better.
