The 3D anime film Toufu Kozou (Tofu Boy) is based on Natsuhiko Kyogoku's light novel titled Toufu Kozou Sugoroku-douchuu Furidashi - which itself is based on a ghost folk tale, re-imagining an iconic character in traditional Japanese folklore. According to legend, a boyish spirit waits along country roads and tricks travelers into eating a piece of deadly tofu.
