The TV anime series Showa Monogatari is created by studio Wao! World, with an original story that follows the human drama of the Yamazaki family from Tokyo, during the Year Showa 39 (1964) - the year that the Summer Olympics were held in Tokyo. This self-professed "TV manga" that is allegedly "the world's first anime aimed at seniors" was preceded by an anime film that premiered in Japan at the end of January 2011.
