The anime adaptation Date A Live is created by studio AIC Plus+, based on a light novel series written by Koushi Tachibana and illustrated by Tsunako. In the "new generation of boy-meets-girl" story, a boy named Shidou Itsuka meets a spirit girl who has been rejected by a devastated world. The girl, who Sido names "Tohka", happens to have wiped out much of humanity 30 years ago, and now she is back. The only way to stop her is to date her. (based on ANN synopsis)
hehe, this one will be interesting, another anime I am looking forward to. The Light Novel was good too though, I wonder how they are gonna make this.

Probably all those announcements are no more than jokes. This series get spotlight so much just because of Fujimi Fantasia's crazy promotion. I can speak some japanese, and i've read the light novel until Volume 4. The entire premise sounds interesting, and if it were to get animated, i hope it will be 20+ episodes since the plot is rather complicated and the character development is very heavy (especially Kurumi in Vol3 and Kotori in Vol4). Volume 6 of Light Novel is scheduled to release in December 2012. It's most likely that they will release it in the same time as anime adaptation (which some dudes in my community predicted will be airing in January 2013)
