Gurren Lagann

Also known as:  Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, TTGL

Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann began as a mecha series animated by Gainax, and was followed by two movies - Gurren Lagann: Guren-hen in September 2008, and Gurren Lagann: Ragan-hen in April 2009, both animated by the same studio. The story takes place in the distant future, when people live in subterranean caverns, fearing the occasional earthquake and cave-in, as they have been for hundreds of years. Then things get worse.
