The OVA project Katayoku no Khronos Gear is created by studio AIC, as part of a new multimedia franchise that also includes manga and game adaptations. The sci-fi story is set in the near future, after humanity has built an orbital elevator and begun colonizing the outer planets. An enigmatic extraterrestrial enemy known as "Obliquus" / "Oblicuse" has set its sights on the solar system, however, and upon their raiding of a space station, humanity enters a state of war with the aliens. To counter the enemy's overwhelming technological superiority, the Khronos Foundation has assembled the descendants of every country's heroes from Japan's Musashi Miyamoto and Ryouma Sakamoto to France's Napoleon and Joan of Arc. The foundation then fuses the descendants with "Gear" battle suits as special biological weapons, thus giving birth to "Khronos Gear". (based on ANN synopsis)
