Armored Trooper Votoms: Pailsen Files continues the classic robot / mecha anime franchise, albeit by telling a prequel story about the end of the 100 year war. The 12-episode OVA was produced by studio Sunrise using 3D CG animation. It was released throughout 2007 and 2008, and it also spawned a theatrical movie version in early 2009.
