The anime film Trigun: Badlands Rumble is produced by studio Madhouse (who also animated the earlier TV series), based on Yasuhiro Nightow's Trigun manga. The story is set in Makka, a town surrounded by quicksand. With rumors spreading that the legendary robber Gasback has his sights set on the town, the mayor Kepler has brought together bounty hunters to protect the town. These bounty hunters have been following Gasback from town to town in hopes of bagging the prize. Meryl and Milly have come to town to assess the situation as insurance agents, but are shocked by this turn of events. Moreover, Vash the Stampede is also in town, along with the female bounty hunter Ameria and Nicholas D. Wolfwood. (based on ANN synopsis)

I just want them to re-release the box set for Trigun (whoever owns the rights ...) really loved that series.

you say that its confirmed but really? Where would they take the movie if the story was fulfilled in the series? Why not just watch the series if they are going to just redo the series into a shorter version? Why pay if its just gonna be the same but less time?

So "anonymous" on Oct 13... sweetie yes its confirmed. Go to youtube and watch Nightow present it himself mmmkay??? Who cares about semantics? Real fans would gladly pay (though it would never be released in American theatres) just to see Vash ride again. Me? I'd pay twice to see Wolfwood.

So when is this being released? It's been a few months since they announced the movie. Is there actually a release date?

"Release date: 24.04.2010" - it's listed right under the title at the top.

so will they dub it in english so those of us who are not blessed with the bilangual tongue of japenese can see it and now whats going on?

Sure there's going to be an English subbed version, and quite likely a dubbed one as well, eventually. In fact, over this past weekend, the Trigun movie had its world premiere at Sakura-Con in Seattle (or so they say).

for the one who doubted this and claimed it was just going to be a retelling of the series in movie form..you are W-R-O-N-G...WRONG. It is a brand new story...not even written in the Manga..which is rad as hell! It was premiered in Seattle subbed not dubbed and during the Q&A the statement was made that negotiations are in process for it to be dubbed...he also stated that the making of this movie was because of the american fans..so if we want more we need to tell him so!! this makes me smile..my 10 yr old daughter is a huge fan of Vash

and this comes out on dvd when????
Stokkywrote on Jul 19, 2010 at 07:07
I'm not seeing any DVD release planned anywhere, and certainly not in the US. FUNimation's licensing announcement refers to the theatrical version only, afaik.
