The TV anime series Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu (The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya) was produced by Kyoto Animation, based on the popular light novels written by Nagaru Tanigawa and illustrated by Noizi Ito. The story focuses on the title character Suzumiya Haruhi, a young high school girl, and her strange antics with her friends in the 'SOS Brigade' club that she formed. The anime's 14 episodes were originally broadcast out of chronological order, compared to the light novels' timeline. The linear order to watch them (also known as the 'Haruhi order'), based on their broadcast numbering (known as the 'Kyon order'), is the following: episode 2, 3, 5, 10, 13, 14, 4, 7, 6, 8, 1, 12, 11, 9.
