The TV anime series Tokyo Magnitude 8.0 was created by studio Bones, and initially announced at TAF 2009. As the title suggests, the story is triggered by a catastrophic earthquake that hits Tokyo with a force of over 9000, dealing massive damage, and follows two siblings - a girl and her younger brother. For their summer vacation, they visit a a robot exhibition on Odaiba Island, and that's when the earthquake hits. A strong-willed woman takes them under her protective wing, and helps them make their way home through all the disaster.
