The CG anime project .hack//Link is produced by Bandai Visual, based on Namco Bandai's action-RPG game of the same title, developed for the PSP by CyberConnect2. This OVA's first two episodes are bundled with the first two volumes of the .hack//Quantum OVA. The game's cinematics are being animated by Studio 4°C, and its story is an extension to the .hack franchise. It begins in 2020 (three years after the events of .hack//G.U.), taking place not only in the new version of "The World" known as "The World R:X", but also in the real world. The lead character is a middle school student named Tokio Kuryuu. He lives a normal life as a gamer until a mysterious girl named Saika Amagi transfers to his school. She takes Tokio to the school rooftop one day and sends his consciousness and real body into The World R:X. There, Tokio begins to discover that time for some characters, and even the history of The World itself, is going haywire.
