Kaitou Reinya (Phantom Thief Reinya) is a series of 12 anime shorts created by studio Stringray, based on a "nonsensical comedy" manga whose main character is inspired by Reina Tanaka - a member of the girl band Morning Musume in real life. In the manga / anime version, she is a girl who wears a signboard for the Faminya convenience store near a police station by day. But by night, she is a whimsical thief chased by bumbling police officers, led by the handsome "Detective" Keiji-san and the cool "Inspector" Keibu-san. Joining Reinya on her escapades is her trusty assistant, the mouse Chuutarou (Okano).
