Titan Rain marks the first collaboration between Production I.G and Singapore's Storm Lion studio. It utilizes a unique 3D CGI technique and a cutting-edge anime creativity to appeal to the worldwide audience. "In order to survive in today's complexed society, the human race needs to be strong. Facing the harsh reality of life is one of the main themes of this project." The anime film began pre-production in 2010 and was supposed to debut internationally in early 2012, but Production I.G's parent company, IG Port announced at its August 2010 stockholders general meeting that the project had been cancelled.
