Sugar Dark is originally a dark fantasy light novel series written by Enji Arai and illustrated by mebae. The story follows a boy named Muoru, who has been falsely arrested and now performs forced labor at a cemetery, calling himself the "grave keeper". There he meets a beautiful girl named Meria and becomes fascinated with her, as he spends his days digging a hole containing the undead monster named "The Dark".
