Magic Kaito

Also known as:  Magic Kaitou, Kaito Kid, Kid the Phantom Thief

The TV anime special Magic Kaito was the first anime adaptation based on Gosho Aoyama's manga, which preceded his more popular series Detective Conan (Case Closed). The story of Magic Kaito centers on a young budding magician named Kaito Kuroba, who follows in his late father's footsteps as the legendary thief Kaitou Kid. The same character also appears in the 2010 anime film and OVA adaptations of Detective Conan - The Lost Ship in the Sky, and Kid in Trap Island, respectively.
