Valkyria Chronicles, also known as Battlefield Valkyria: Gallian Chronicles in Japan, is an action-RPG (with some strategy elements) created by Sega, set in a World War-like scenario, but with a distinctive anime look to it. Starting from April 2009, an anime version titled Senjou no Valkyria began airing as a TV series adapted by studio A-1 Pictures. The game's pseudo-sequel, Valkyria Chronicles II was released for the PSP in 2010, and a more true-to-the-original third game will steer the series back onto the PS3.
