Shining Hearts continues Sega's long-running "Shining" series, as a fantasy RPG for the PSP handheld, featuring character designs by Tony Taka. Players take on the role of a young warrior named Rick, who drifts to the peaceful Wyndaria Island. There he starts working at a "magic" bakery and lives alongside three sisters: Neris, Airy and Amaru, each with their unique baking abilities. A fourth girl named Kaguya also arrives on the island one morning after a great storm, having lost not only her memory, but also her emotion. Furthermore, she seems to attract pirates who attack the island, seeking the special spirit stone that Kaguya wears around her neck. As players fight off the pirates and work through a story themed around love, friendship and bonds, they'll collect "hearts", leading to changes in the structure and state of the island.
