A notable licensing agreement to come out of this week's Anime Expo 2009 in Los Angeles involves the sci-fi anime series
Eureka Seven and its recent theatrical version,
Pocket Full of Rainbows (Pocket ga Niji de Ippai). First off, for whoever has still not seen the original anime - shame on you - Bandai Entertainment will be streaming it over on
ANN. And second, for whoever has still not ninja-watched the Eureka 7 movie - shame on us - Bandai will bring it to North American theatres for one night only, on September 24, 2009.

The movie will be screened in about 300-400 theatres, thanks to Bandai's solid dealings with Fathom Entertainment, and tickets are said to go on sale from August 21. Hopefully, some more lazy-friendly format release will follow afterwards. But for now, if you plan on catching it on the big screen, keep an eye on the movie's official English
website and
Fathom's page.
Too bad for Bandai that the film's fan-subbed version has just creeped its way over the torrents, a couple of days ago. Talk about irony.
