I, as many other people around the world, get frustrated all the time. For various and most dubious reasons. Still, the one true reason that fuels my frustration to the point of no return is the release of un-translated Japanese visual novels. There is a huge amount of them out there, many of the highest quality, but alas, thou shalt not touch them, because your Katakana sucks ass.
Sure, a few good-hearted companies have tried over the years to "port" such games straight into the Western market - but with no avail. Either the said market is not ready for such titles, either the taste of European/American consumers is just way too different. Whichever the case might be, the sad truth is that we have too few Japanese visual novels translated into English. Insert seven buckets of tears here. And then two more.

This does not seem to stop people like those from MangaGamer.com, as they have recently
announced at the Anime Expo convention that the English translation rights for NAVEL's
Shuffle! have been finally acquired. They also plan to release the game as a downloadable product, straight from their website, so those of us living in fourth world countries that have just discovered the notion of fire can avoid the painful process of importing the game / shipping the game / delaying the shipment due to drunk drivers working at the distribution company. Yeah, that's why I love Steam and other similar services.
MangaGamer.com also has in mind to release the first four chapters of an English-translated
Higurashi no Naku Koro ni visual novel, sometime at the end of October, with the next four chapters following soon, with about two months delay. All of these, as said before, will be available for download from MangaGamer.com's official
website.
