Usually, pets are deemed as a common thing. Be it a cat, a dog, a horse, a skunk or a little sister, pets are known for their ability to provide either peace and quiet, or dashes of gray hair, obliterated curtains or poisonous (and sometimes extremely deadly) wounds. Usually. But since people tend to be more and more allergic to various weird things, such as cotton, icecream, oxygen or even animals, companies like Sega Toys decided to play around a bit with our imagination, releasing different types of pet-like robots that are just too cute to say no to.

Sega Toys'
Yume Pets series offers a wide variety of mechanical underlings, and their latest addition is
Yume Neko Venus, a Norwegian Forest Cat imitation that looks, behaves, purrs and bites just like the real thing. All sorts of sensors, screws and other gizmos help the would-be neko to get its act together, but the price is not cheap. Those interested in such things will have to part with 10,500 yen starting late July, when this product will hit the market. Also in the making are the mechanical chipmunk and the mechanical squirrel, though we are eagerly awaiting the mechanical
Hazuki-chan.
