A special memento of something you really like can be priceless. Of course, if you have enough money to buy it. If you don't, well... you can always become a pantsu thief in Akihabara, pillaging and plundering school dorms in the middle of the night. Some things cannot be stolen, though, and the most dandy way to settle the score between spendola-wielding fanatics is, of course, an auction. May the best otaku win. In this case, may the richest one win.

A pretty sketch of Kagami Hiiragi from
Lucky Star, drawn by the evil mastermind Naru Nanao (best known as illustrator and original character designer for multimedia projects such as
Da Capo,
Canvas 2,
sola,
ef - a fairy tale of the two) was recently
sold to the highest bidder, for no less than 1,311,000 yen (something in the likes of 14,000 USD), after a gruesome "one wallet to rule them all" fight between three bidders, each one of them willing to throw away more than 13,000 USD in the first bid. A nice addition to any fan's collection, I must say. Expensive, nevertheless. I wonder how much would a Picasso cost in Japan, if he would have drawn lolis.
Thanks
ANN for the scoop.
