In the recent years, FUNimation worked really hard to bring quality stuff to North-American viewers, and for that it deserves our full cup of /care. While others were busy licensing mediocre bullshit, these guys were actually picking from the bowl of better series. Right now (thanks to the Otakon convention), FUNimation
informs us about their latest acquisitions, beginning with the more-than-watchable
Casshern Sins (Madhouse, 2008), and ending with the oh-so-awesome
Higashi no Eden (I.G., 2009).

Eden of the East was a really fast one, I must say. Probably because it rocked so hard. After watching it myself, I can certainly say that this little anime jewel will be a strong candidate for 2009's Best Anime. Besides these two titles, FUNimation also plans to have an American release for Dragon Ball Z "Dragon Box" DVD sets, plus the Korean live-action Daytime Drinking.
Good stuff coming from FUNi, keep it up. On a random note, it was quite fun to see all the Eden of the East not-so-legit torrents quietly disappearing from several sites, right after the announcement. Thank God my hand is quicker than the eye.
