Yet another reason for me to get my ass back to London for a trip. Too bad it's incredibly expensive. And incredibly far, far away. Every year, besides drinking their 5 o'clock tea and talking politics, the more up-to-date British people are holding what they call a Grand International Cosplay Ball, on November 29, somewhere at the Clapham Grand (note to self: google for more info on the location).
Being a COSPLAY event, attendants will undoubtedly witness tons and tons of pretty maidens (among which
Yaya Han is rumored to participate), flopping their magic wands, bunny ears and Aruru-like fox tails alongside a bunch of Djs, bands and several circus performers. Lolicons will also be thrilled to know that a a "Hime" lolita show will occur. Send me some pictures, everyone.
Tickets can be purchased from their official
website, starting August 3, for a mere 18 pounds each. Also, prior to this, there will be a huge launch party on August 1, where a couple of J-pop bands will jam their guitars, hoping that people will listen. Sounds like fun. Last time I went to London, I only got some cheap overage whores, some warm home-made beer and lots of bad weather.
Thanks
Anime UK News for the scoop.
