Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn is shaping up to be quite a treat for fans of the franchise in general, and of its original "Universal Century" in particular. After it was previously revealed that this new anime project will take an OVA format, with 6 episodes running at 50 minutes each, more recently its release plans were also
detailed. The first volume is planned for a simultaneous worldwide release on Blu-ray and DVD from March 12, preceded by an early Japanese premiere on February 20, 2010.

The February 20 premiere will comprise not only theatrical screenings, but also an online debut on Sony's PlayStation Store (for the PS3 and PSP), as well as advance sales of the Blu-ray version. Now, the thing about this Blu-ray version is that it will include not only the original Japanese audio and subs, but also an English dub, plus subtitles in English, French, Spanish, and Chinese.
The DVD release, however, will only have one audio track (in Japanese), but it will offer both Japanese and English subtitles. Which is fine, too. After all, Gundam's English dubs are traditionally made of
epic fail.
Speaking of English, the OVA's official website sports a pretty decent
English version if you want to find out more about it. And speaking of... well, Gundam Unicorn, we've just added a
second trailer locally with some 2 minutes of footage.
P.S. Oh, and speaking of trailers, we are finally switching over from that crappy ol' FLV streaming, to H.264 encoded trailers.
Wootness abounds.
