While going over some gaming news, a couple of PSP remakes of classic visual novels caught my attention. I already mentioned
Sharin no Kuni's upcoming PSP port at the end of our
previous story. But there's another one that looks like it more than deserves a post of its own. So like the title betrays it, that would be
EVE: Burst Error, originally from 1995.

The game's PSP version was just announced this weekend by publisher Kadokawa. They plan to release it in March 2010 under the title EVE The 1st Burst Error. You might wonder how such an old game could possibly stand the test of time, given the
atrocious character designs of the '90s. The answer is as simple, as it is convincing: by keeping the original's praised mystery story, but with completely redesigned characters.
The entire game is practically being redone visually into something a lot more alluring, as you can see from the pictures added to our
gallery, or the ones below ninja'd from
Famitsu.

The idea behind the original EVE: Burst Error goes something like this:
"In this game there are two heroes, Kojiroh and Marina, who are each called to solve their own cases. This game allows you to switch characters at any time to solve the mysteries these heroes encounter. This "Multi-Sight Adventure" allows you to view what's happening behind-the-scenes from the other character's perspective, bump into each other, and sometimes even help each other out. Together, they come closer and closer to the shocking truth through their combined actions and skills of deduction."
