Stepping up to rectify last month's hasty revelation that Kodansha was planning to release "a new manga version of the TV anime series, Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex", the Japanese publisher has announced that there will actually be 2 new manga titles based on said anime, both set to begin serialization in December 2009.

The first manga will be called Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex - Tachikoma na Hibi, and it will launch on December 9 in the inaugural issue of Monthly Young Magazine (formarly the Bessatsu Young Magazine). It will be drawn by Masayuki Yamamoto, and be based on the tongue-in-cheek spin-off anime shorts featuring the Tachikoma AI robots. Playful, deadly and blue!

The second manga will be called Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex (period), and it will launch on December 14 in the Weekly Young Magazine's February issue. Yu Kinutani will draw it, and judging by the lack of information (which is never a really wise thing to do, but whatever), it will probably be a more generic adaptation of the GitS SAC anime.

That's about all... Oh, and the new 3D CG scenes from Ghost in the Shell 2.0 still suck epic dragon balls. Though I doubt I'll change my mind about them anytime soon.
