Nichijou... Everyday Life... "Nothing amazing ever happens here"... Oh, wait, wrong manga. "There is nothing abnormal in the hall!" - yeah, that's better; although just as misleading. Despite the normality-inspiring title Nichijou, this gag manga is packed full of insane situations that are anything but ordinary. In other words: a perfect candidate for an anime adaptation.

And an anime is precisely what it's getting, thanks to the fresh announcement of a Nichijou anime, in the works at Kyoto Animation (Suzumiya Haruhi, Lucky Star, K-ON!). The report originates from the pages of Kadokawa Shoten's Shounen Ace magazine (via moetron), whose July issue came out this week in Japan.

The same publisher has been serializing the Nichijou manga in a couple of its magazines since 2006. The manga is authored by Keiichi Arawi, and it's set in a strange school where it's perfectly normal to see the principal wrestle a deer, to mention but one of the less ridiculous situations.

If your floor is in no condition to roll over laughing on it, you might want to do something about it before this anime begins. Whenever that is.

Update: Prior to the TV series, a Nichijou Episode 0 OVA will be released in January 2011, as a DVD bundled with the manga's 6th volume (via ANN). So it's safe to assume that the TV series Nichijou will begin airing either from January 2011, or April 2011.
