Gotta love it when a confusing
rumor arguing between two anime projects turns into formal confirmations for both of them. And then some! So, as speculated last month, we can now look forward not only to a second
To Aru Majutsu no Index TV anime series (
Update #2: starting from October 2010), but also a
To Aru Kagaku no Railgun OVA, as well as a PSP fighting game.

First in line this summer is the
Railgun OVA, which will be a single episode tentatively titled "To Aru Beach no Tokuten Eizo" (because one can never have too many beach / swimming pool / hot springs / public bath ecchi specials). According to
moetron's brief update from last night, the OVA will be bundled with the official visual book - on sale this July 27.
As for
To Aru Majutsu no Index 2, not much is known about it, other than what was
scanned from the July issue of Square Enix's Monthly Shonen Gangan magazine, where the confirmation was published. The full-page image heralds the return of the main characters Index, Mikoto 'BiriBiri' Misaka and what's-his-name... bah, irrelevant.
And finally, that upcoming
PSP game will be a 3D fighting-action adaptation of Kazuma Kamachi's original light novels, roughly planned for release this winter.
Update: That
artwork from the Monthly Shonen Gangan magazine is now also featured on the official Index
website. Furthermore,
Dengeki posted various pictures of the PSP game in action, character drawings and 3D renders, plus a couple of photos of an upcoming BiriBiri figma figure, spread over a 3-page article.
