Unfortunately I'm running late with my preparations for next week's trip to the mountains, so before signing out, I only have enough time for a bare-bones listing of all the anime newsbits that have caught my eye over the past 10 days or so. Sekirei: Pure Engagement's unaired episode 0 will be
bundled on the BD / DVD volume 1, out on August 25. New trailers
here and
here. The second season starts airing this July 4.
A new anime is
coming in 2011 or 2012 from director Yutaka Yamamoto (
Kannagi,
Suzumiya Haruhi,
Lucky Star).
A
Gakuen Hakkenden boys-love anime adaptation was
announced.
A
Heroman anime short will be
included on the series' BD / DVD volume 2, out on September 22. The 3-minute short will be called "Portent", and it will present an "unseen new side" of the main characters Joey and Lina.
Battle Spirits 3rd TV anime season was
announced.
Kuruneko 2nd TV anime season was
announced to begin airing this July 3.
Over 1 million BD and DVD copies of
Evangelion: 2.22 have been
shipped by King Records, and the anime film's Blu-ray version is Japan's #1 BD for the third week in a row.
The recently-
revealed single-episode
To Aru Kagaku no Railgun OVA was eventually
reported by ANN as well, but with some clarification / confusion regarding its title.
Naruto Shippuuden: The Lost Tower, this year's 4th anime film in the franchise, will be shown with a theatrical
comedy anime short, about Naruto and his friends fighting over a bottle with a genie who can grant the proverbial three wishes. Premieres this July 31.
Kuttsukiboshi was
announced as the third anime coming from studio Primastea, of
Isshoni Training /
Sleeping with Hihako fame. The official
website is up, and so is the first local
Kuttsukiboshi trailer. The OVA's first part will be released this August 16 (with plenty of yuri moments), and the second part is planned for summer 2011.
4 new anime shorts are in the works at Production I.G, P.A. Works, Telecom Animation Film, and Ascension, each one running for about 30 minutes, and
funded by the Japan Animation Creators Association's "2010 Young Animator Training Project".
A
Princess Resurrection OVA DVD was
announced, following the 2007 TV anime series adapted by Madhouse, based on Yasunori Mitsunaga's supernatural manga.
The
Shukufuku no Campanella BD and DVD volumes will
include bathing specials called "Issho ni Bath Time" for 3D TVs (along with regular 2D versions). Starting with the first volume's release this September 22, each special will feature a different character in hot steaming action, except for the final 6th volume: that one will feature them all together!
A
new Seikon no Qwaser anime was briefly
listed on the official website on June 20, but the update was quickly removed.
A 3D anime film based on the Atashin'chi comedy manga was
announced for a November 13, 2010 premiere in Japan.
Hakuouki 2nd TV anime season was
announced to begin airing from October 2010.
