From the bottomless pool of expired novelties (a.k.a. "old news is so exciting!"), here's one of the new anime projects announced earlier this month: Denpa Onna to Seishun Otoko, roughly translating to Electromagnetic Woman and Adolescent Man. And here's a perfectly valid reason for bringing it to your attention today: the opening of a local gallery depicting its chilling-blue haired loli, Erio Touwa.

At its core, Denpa Onna to Seishun Otoko is a light novel series authored by Hitoma Iruma and illustrated by Buriki, with five volumes compiled since its January 2009 debut, plus a sixth one currently planned for release this September 10. Between now and then, a manga adaptation will also begin serialization in the Dengeki G's Magazine, starting with the October issue - out in Japan on August 30.

Thus we could hope for an October 2010 debut for the anime version, but officially speaking, no release date has yet been set. The only speck of detail revealed at the latest TBS Anime Festa, event over in Tokyo, was that the anime will take the form of a TV series. As for the original novels' story, here's how ANN sums it up.
"The story revolves around an ordinary high school boy named Makoto Niwa and his cousin, a mysterious girl named Erio Touwa. There is a rumor in their town that aliens watch over it. Erio tells Makoto that Earth has been targeted and says she is an alien herself."

It may sound generic, but it sure looks sweet. A couple of official websites - one offered by TBS (the network that will be hosting the anime's TV debut) and another by the (music) production company Starchild Records - are there for those who wish to keep a watchful eye over this one.
