A very merry Christmas is what I wish you all jolly (and occasionally derranged) people out there! Along with this, and another
Christmas gallery update today, I'd like to take this time to share some thoughts that I've been having last night. Umm, no, not
those kinds of thoughts!

As I was waiting for the effects of excessive coffee drinking to fade, one wishful thinking led to another, and I soon found myself scribbling down ideas at the light of a decade-old cell phone. Ideas that should soon translate into a much more interactive website, as it shily opens up to user contributions.
This is something that I've been pondering pretty much since Animekon came to be, several years ago. Now, at last, I'm prepared to start treating my paranoia of web-vandalism, and embrace the long-since-obvious fact that such a website
must welcome and support the community's help.
Some of you have already been extending your help via comments (or even e-mails) in the past, such as pointing out new release dates or other anime-related updates; and for that I thank you again. But such contributions can - and will - be made much more user-friendly, through new options designed at giving a little bit more power to the people.
And to make things really simple for you guys, no user account or registration of any kind will be needed for such contributions (it's not like those restrictions would have much effect against potential trolls, anyway). This pretty much means that any visitor stumbling upon an incomplete anime page here on Animekon (of which we have plenty) will be able to immediately submit a release date, format and a short description, without any extra hassle. Or to suggest entirely new anime and game titles (of which we lack plenty) to be added to our database.
Some safety checks will of course be performed, but they will be kept down to a bare minimum.
Whether or not this will turn out to be a wise approach... well, we'll just have to wait and see. But I figured it's about time we embraced the innevitable - and, while at it, keep it as simple as possible. Right then, enough talk: time for some coding.
