The folks from Marvel have revealed the story outlines for the next two "Marvel Anime" series in the works at studio Madhouse - X-Men and Blade - both of which should begin airing in Japan and the U.S. (on G4) during 2011. "Should" and not "will", in case they end up getting delayed like the first two series - Iron Man and Wolverine - which were supposed to start half a year earlier than they eventually did.

X-Men anime

So starting with the X-Men anime, which is next in line after Wolverine ends, the story begins with the X-Men being reunited after the death of a teammate. They are summoned by Charles Xavier to Japan, following the abduction of Hisako Ichiki (Armor). There, they confront the U-Men, a lunatic cult that steals and transplants mutant organs to further strengthen their own army - and the battle for justice is on.

Blade anime

As for Blade, the fourth and last series in the Marvel Anime project, the story will of course focus on the titular character otherwise known as Eric Brooks - who seeks revenge on Deacon Frost, the vampire lord who killed his mother while she was still pregnant with Eric. With all the powers of a vampire, but with none of their weaknesses, Blade's quest for vengeance leads him throughout Southeast Asia in search of Frost. Arriving in Vietnam, he discovers a vampire plot that threatens to take down the whole world.

If Madhouse manages to also roll these out with no break in between series, X-Men could start from April, and Blade from July 2011.
