A twitter
update last night has finally narrowed down the North American release timeframe for
Final Fantasy XIII-2 to January 2012 - just a short month after the game's Japanese release, planned for this December. Both its PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions are expected to be out at that time, so as the update concludes: "Be excited!"... or else!

Personally, I can do without the excitement. But for those of you who happen to be interested in this allegedly-less-linear sequel, and have missed the barrage of gameplay screenshots that Square Enix has been dumping all over the internets lately, you can find them nicely grouped on
Andriasang, for instance. Locally, there are just a few renders to be seen in the game's
gallery, and of course that ol' FF XIII-2
debut trailer shown at Square's event from January.
