Some interesting gaming news bits this morning, and to start off with the bad one - the PS3 and PSP (non-ero) versions of
Fortune Arterial, which were supposed to come out later this year, have been
cancelled due to "various reasons" cited by developer August and publisher Kadokawa Shoten. The game was originally released for the PC in 2008, and was adapted into a
TV anime last autumn plus an
OVA earlier this year.

Moving on to brighter topics, a Famitsu report (via
Andriasang) is finally clearing up some of the previous confusion surrounding
Robotics;Notes - the third entry in the "augmented science adventure" game series developed by 5pb. and Nitroplus, following
Chaos;Head (2008) and
Steins;Gate (2009). These latest details point to a simultaneous release for the PS3 and Xbox 360, in Spring 2012. Also, an earlier
trailer for the game can now be watched locally. And, since history has that nasty habit of repeating itself, an anime adaptation should follow not too long after the game's release...

Also from Famitsu (and also via
Andriasang), comes word that the "Natsubi" demo version of the upcoming PSP action-JRPG
Final Fantasy Type-0 will be offered by Square Enix as a free download - not sure when, but presumably before the game's release in Japan this October 13. You can get a shaky-cam glimpse of it in the linked report.

It's only been a week since the North American release of
Catherine on the PS3 and Xbox 360, and already the game has set an alleged sales record for Atlus, as the biggest launch title in the publisher's 20-year history. Shamefully, however, "Atlus could not provide exact sales numbers at this time", writes
IGN. Amateur PR...
Update: The numbers are in:
200,000 units sold in the first week.

A final premiere date for the upcoming TV anime
Battle Spirits Heroes - the 4th in the series - has been set for September 18, according to an Anime!Anime!
report today. That's all.
