It took me two whole years of World of Warcraft to forget about my Final Fantasy mania, but only a few minutes of watching my pedo comrade play FFX on his PS2 last night (with ample booze on the side), to revive my perfectly healthy obsession with
Yuna. So now that I’m back in business, let us
itadakimaaaasu dig into Square’s latest announcements, regarding the upcoming European release of Final Fantasy XII this February 23. Fluffy Moogles and cosplaying included!

For starters, here’s where & when the launch is set to take place in the UK:
Date: 23rd February 2007
Time: 12pm-2pm (gift wristbands available from 9am)
Address: HMV, 150 Oxford Street, London, W1D1DJ
Entry: Free to everyone
Those of you planning to attend will not only get the chance to shake hands with some of the game’s producers, namely Akitoshi Kawazu and Hiroshi Minagawa (though I’d rather hug some loli
Penelo cosplayers and have them shake hands with my wii), but the first 100 people to buy the game during the launch event will also receive an exclusive Moogle fluffy toy. Plus some other stuff, like a CD with five songs from the FF XII soundtrack, which I’m sure than every fan has listened to over and over again by now.
As for cosplaying, there will hopefully be that too, as Square Enix and HMV are inviting fans to join in the celebrations wearing their very own Final Fantasy costumes, for a chance to win some freebies. And best of all, anyone - and they mean anyone attending the launch event, even those who don’t buy the game, can also enter a competition to win a trip for two to Japan! Gief!!
