Confidence must be strong with the higher-ups at Kadokawa and Kyoto Animation, given the anticipation for next month's TV anime series Hyouka
. So strong, that they are already planning
an OVA adaptation... for 2013! The plan is to bundle it on Blu-ray with the limited edition of Tasukuouna's third Hyouka manga volume, out in Japan in January 2013.
The Hyouka OVA
is said to deal with an incident at the municipal swimming pool - in other words, fanservice shall abound! But until then, KyoAni fans can look forward to the TV anime's debut on April 22.
Both anime adaptations and the manga series bundling this OVA are based on Honobu Yonezawa's adolescent mystery novel Hyou-ka: You Can't Escape. The original story - as summarized by ANN - follows a boy named Houtarou who is not assertive about getting involved, but was ordered by his older sister to join the classic literature club (kotenbu). In the club, he gets close to the truth about an incident, involving a female member's uncle, which happened 33 years ago. The "energy-saving" boy is joined by an inquisitive girl in this adolescent mystery.
