The classic samurai manga
Lone Wolf and Cub is getting yet another live-action movie adaptation, it seems - Hollywood style, this time.
Deadline is reporting that Kamala Film has acquired the film rights to this manga authored by Kazuo Koike and illustrated by Goseki Kojima, and that Justin Lin (
Fast Five) is already set to direct, based on a script written by David and Janet Peoples (Twelve Monkeys). Sooo... what about that
anime?!

A new anime adaptation of
Junjou Romantica is in the works, according to this week's issue of Asuka Ciel magazine,
based on Shungiku Nakamura's boys-love manga that already inspired two TV anime series in 2008.

Kachidoki Studio is
making a series of anime shorts featuring Nukko, the mascot guide of the SKE48 no Sekai Seifuku Joshi TV program (starring SKE48, the Nagoya-based spinoff of the
AKB48 idol group). The new
Nukko. anime is an "adolescent school story revolving around Nukko and Nukko's slightly(?) oddball friends". Starts airing this April 2.

A wondrous art book titled
"Elementary School Uniforms Encyclopedia" was released in Japan yesterday, featuring color illustrations of 65 private elementary schools' uniforms for boys and girls, drawn by 22 Japanese illustrators. This is the 4th such catalog introduced by writer/editor Makoto Yasuda, following the two volumes of "High School Girl Uniforms Encyclopedia" in 2010 and "Junior High School Girl Uniforms Encyclopedia" in 2011. He
"would be more than happy if this book helps the kids choose their future school". Yeah... I'm sure that kids will be the only ones buying this one...
