The official
website for the upcoming anime series
Ebiten has clarified the release date and format of this project: it will start in July, and at first it will be streamed on the Japanese video service Nico Nico Douga, similar to the ongoing
Upotte!! anime. So that's one more title added to the
Summer 2012 season.

The anime, fully titled Ebiten: Kouritsu Ebi Sugawa Koukou Tenmonbu, is in the works at studio AIC Classic, based on a school otaku comedy manga written by SCA-ji and illustrated by Kira Inugami.
The story follows Itsuki Noya, who just started his school year at the Ebisugawa High School. Since he has always had a fascination with space, he decides to join the astronomy club (Tenmon-bu). However, he mistakenly walks into the fujoshi (female otaku) club (aslo called Tenmon-bu, but written with different kanji). He notices that the members are really weird, but Itsuki has yet to realize that he isn't in the astronomy club. His life is about to get complicated by being surrounded by so many girls.
There's no trailer out for it yet, but you can check out the earlier
story about its characters and how they will look like in the anime. Also, a local
Ebiten gallery welcomes you with a bunch of character artworks, including the latest
key visual taken from the anime's website.
