The "hypothetical science adventure" anime film
Steins;Gate Movie now has a theoretical release timeframe planned for Fall 2012 in Japan, according to a report from the Monthly Shonen Ace magazine (via
MAL). The movie follows last year's
TV anime series that was created by studio White Fox, based on the visual novel
Steins;Gate, originally developed by 5pb. and Nitroplus and released in 2009.

Speaking of release dates, the game's PlayStation 3 version is releasing in Japan later this month, on May 24. This edition includes the Steins;Gate: Hiyoku Renri no Darling fan disc, which was initially released for the PC in 2010, and it also came out for the PSP last month.
The original game's story revolves around the eccentric college student Rintarou "Okarin" Okabe and his "Mirai Gadget Kenkyuusho" ("Future Gadget Laboratory") circle of friends in a realistic version of Tokyo's Akihabara district. The friends turn a microwave oven into a machine that sends email messages to the past, and that attracts the attention of a mysterious organization called SERN. (based on ANN synopsis)
