The recent
interview with James Cameron that everyone's been linking this week isn't as bad as it sounds, for fans of
Battle Angel Alita (Gunnm) who were hoping to see its live-action film adaptation at some point in life. The interview made it sound like Cameron would only make Avatar sequels (and deep-sea diving documentaries) for the rest of his career. But that's not entirely accurate, as it turns out.

Ain't It Cool News got in touch with Cameron for a
comment on the state of the Battle Angel Alita movie project, and although it is indeed a far-fetched dream of his, one which is not going to materialize for a few more years at least, it's still very much a dream of his.
"I still love that project. But Battle Angel is not going to happen for a few years", he told AICN, adding to what is now a countless number of
reassurances that he's been sending out for what seems like a decade, that the project is not dead. Not completely. Not yet. Hopefully not ever...
And to keep our flickering flame of hope alight, I figured that a local
Battle Angel Alita gallery update might help.
