An explosion of tweets was triggered by the ending credits of the
Persona 4 The Animation: The Factor of Hope compilation movie, which premiered in Japan this June 9. The anime film ended with a short clip
announcing that a theatrical film version of the Persona 3 game is in the making. It will presumably be an anime adaptation (i.e. not live-action or 3D CG), given that the clip featured the game's protagonist in a traditional 2D animation.

We'll have to wait some more, to find out when to expect this
Persona 3 movie. The original game - the third one from the Shin Megami Tensei: Persona series - was first released by Atlus for the PS2 in 2006. Later, it was expanded with an add-on disc, as well as a remake for the PSP, titled Persona 3 Portable.
It will also be interesting to see which studio will create the movie, given that the game's animated cinematics were done by studio Sunrise, while the latest
Persona 4 TV anime and compilation movie were done by studio AIC; and the earlier anime
Persona: Trinity Soul from 2008 (a spin-off story based on the Persona 3 game) was done by A-1 Pictures.
