Wa
nking up early in the morning to find no less than three new animes announced, while I was enjoying the unproductive pleasures of life, fills me with a sense of... how should I put this... a sense of lazyness. Thanks to
Moon Phase doing all the grunt work (as usual), we can effortlessly report the addition of three new animes to next year's line-up.
The first one, Persona -trinity soul-, is set to premiere in January 2008. It's based on the Persona 3 game released by Atlus on the PlayStation 2, which in turn is anchored in the Shin Megami Tensei series.
ANN took the time to link some of the staff names with their previous projects (ranging from Blood+ and Darker Than Black, to Ouran High School Host Club, The Third, and Le Chevalier D'Eon), and gave a brief outline of the story:
"The anime is set a decade after the game, and will center around three brothers in a future city where the dead have risen with their skins turned inside out." (
Update: The website is up.)

Next up is Library War (Toshokan Sensou), a title picked up by publisher MediaWorks and animated by Production I.G - which alone lends this show some quality weight (hopefully it'll hold). Some details were again translated by
ANN, who say this will be a satirical comedy,
"set in 2019 when an organization has cracked down on "harmful" publications and freedom of expression, so an underground militia rises to protect books and libraries".
Old stories are so exciting!Adding to this,
Ikimashou also mentions Bus Gamer as a new anime in the works at studio Izena for 2008, based on the mystery manga of the same title. No promises. No expectations.
