Light romantic comedies are sometimes my thing. Especially when I am totally drunk and I will certainly forget about it until tomorrow. So it's no wonder I felt strangely aroused when I found out that MediaWorks (some sort of Japanese publisher) announced an adaptation after Yusaku Igurashi's Nogizaka Haruka no Himitsu, a cute light novel with a lot of potential for an anime series.
Why do I say potential? Well, with all the crap that's floating around these days, everything has potential. The story involves a young, plain boy (and probably retarded, like all the boys in animes - except Fukuyama-san, of course), and a hawt (and very young) girl, that turns out to be an enraged otaku. What follows next, I'll let your imagination fly. The show is supposed to be released somewhere next year.
According to ANN
, the staff will look like this:
Munenori Nawa (D.C.S.S. ~Da Capo Second Season~, Otome wa Boku ni Koishiteru) will direct the scripts edited by Tsuyoshi Tama (episode scriptwriter on Azumanga Daioh, Chobits). Satoshi Ishino (Excel Saga, Puni Puni Poemy) will adapt the original character designs from the novel volumes' illustrator, Shaa (Kyōhaku Dogs). Mamiko Noto (X television series' Kotori, Witchblade anime's Masane) leads the cast in both the drama CD and the anime as Haruka, while Wataru Hatano (Basilisk's Chikuma, Toward the Terra's Sam) will play Yūto.
