Over a dozen new animes were announced - or rumoured - throughout the last few weeks. But since we couldn't be bothered to point out each of them at the time, I'll just do a quick new year's revision now, and mash them all together in this here newsbit (make sure you're reading the full story for the unabridged list).

- Code Geass 2 - Begins in April (website).

- Da Capo II Second Season - The fourth season based on the D.C. ~Da Capo~ adult visual novel franchise. Begins in April (website).

- Densetsu no Yuusha no Densetsu (Legend of the Legendary Hero) - Based on a fantasy novel series, with an official announcement expected to be made in the March 2008 issue of Dragon Magazine.

- Golgo 13 - Yet another adaptation of the assassin manga that's been serializing for over 9000 years, this time as a TV anime. Begins this spring.

- Himitsu - Top Secret - Based on a philosophical sci-fi manga in which "brain scanners have been perfected to the point that the government can retrieve up to five years' worth of memories from people's minds - even if they are dead". Begins this spring.

- Kannagi - Rumoured to be in development, based on a supernatural comedy manga.

- Kurogane no Linebarrels (Iron Linebarrels) - Based on a "real battle action robot" manga. Begins in 2008 (website).

- Library War (Toshokan Sensou) - Just a website, following the announcement from a couple of months ago.

- Nabari no Ou - Based on a modern-day ninja manga. Begins... whenever (website).

- Naisho no Tsubomi - Just a website with some lolis. The OVA begins in April.

- Nogizaka Haruka no Himitsu - Just a website for Haruka and her secret; namely that she's an die-hard otaku posing as a hawt chick at school. Oops, spoiled it.

- Nijuu-Mensou no Musume (The Daughter of 20-Faces) - Based on a crime manga with a female thief. Begins in April.

- Soul Eater - Based on a "cool & pop action fantasy" manga, and animated by studio BONES (Fullmetal Alchemist, Wolf's Rain). ANN briefly tells the story of the manga, if you're curious. The anime may or may not begin this spring (website).

- Strike Witches - That short OVA with flying mecha-lolis from last year will finally be developed into a full-fledged anime in 2008, and also a manga adaptation that will begin this month (website). You can still watch the Strike Witches OVA here, and we've just added some wallpapers in our gallery.

- Telepathy Shoujo Ran (Telepathy Girl Ran) - Based on a children's novel series about three middle-school students who use their extra-sensory powers to investigate mystery cases. Begins this spring (website).

- The Magician's Academy - Based on a series of fantasy comedy novels written by Ichiro Sakaki, the author of Scrapped Princess and Polyphonica. Begins in 2008 (website). You can also see the first trailer here on Animekon.

- To LOVE-Ru - Just a new website, with a confirmation that it will begin this spring, indeed.

- To Heart 2 ad - Just a website, announcing the first OVA will launch on March 26.

- Zero no Tsukaima 3 - The title says it all.

- Zettai Karen Children (Absolutely Adorable Children) - Based on a supernatural comedy manga, with three ten-year-old girls who possess some of the world's strongest paranormal powers. Freshly announced, no release date given.

If I missed any other announcement... I probably did it on purpose. Thanks go out to ANN and AnimeNation for doing the dirty grunt work, as usual.
