Before we could even ask ourselves
"What's next?", after all the maid cafes /
casinos /
taxis (or that
cat cafe) popping all over Akihabara, we have already
trainspotted the answer over on
AkibaBlog: a railroad cafe. That is to say, a bar with waitresses dressed up like railroad clerks. Certainly not the most arousing idea, if you ask me, and I'm not too sure that true hardcore trainspotters would even be interested in real women.
But anyway, the place is called Tetsudou Izakaya Little TGV, and it opened for business just a couple of days ago, on February 21. The
"Little TGV" is run by a fictitious railroad company, Shin Akiba Denki Tetsudou (New Akihabara Electric Railroad), it's decorated with all sorts of railroading items, and of course the waitresses have a specific greeting:
"welcome home, master" "thank you for riding our train".

They can ride my Little TGV 'til it goes chu-chu!P.S. Thinking about it last night, between several shots of vodka and a Wii Bowling session in a pub (!), I came up with an idea for what may very well be the ultimate themed cafe. It's in fact so fucking great, I can hardly believe nobody put it into practice yet. But... I'm keeping it to myself, for now - just in case we ever manage to move to Japan and make a shitload of yen out of it. Feel free to make a guess, though.
