lolz now thats a good and entertaining rant. again a reflection though on how a lot of anime themes are out of this world.. doesn't really bother me, but i can almost see the "wtf" faces of american audiences if they ever see similar scenes in movies, not saying they should take the slightest pride in having bad imaginations and low cultural tolerance. now it would be nice if they had fewer failures at real politics when things count and less over-enthusiasm when things don't.

I am actually Looking forward to see what the americans do to the franchise and i think it may be a quality film so long as they dont dramatise it too much even though the likelihood is that they will turn it into some film with an annoying moral underlining.
The thing is America is alot like the setting in Death Note with the largest ammount of criminal activity and the setting in america would be interesting too.
Dont Judge the film before youve seen it is all im saying.

i'm hella againts this american remake, them americans just ruined one miss call, my sassy girl, and a lot more asian movies, i would rather watch shit that this remake, them americans get their own things and dont use japanese industry as your own money maker, i bet they wouldnt even give credit to japanese industry, i want to throw shit at them americans that ruin the asian movie industry.

I won't say a negative thing about the movie or positive, because no one knows what'll happen. Just because America has fucked up some good movies doesn't mean they can't produce one good one. All I'm saying is see the movie before you rant and bite it's head off. If it's bad I'll be right there along with you criticizing it, but if it's good I'll be there to support it. Though I can see where you're coming from, Speed Racer was horrible and The Grudge and The Ring were even worse. I'm glad there's someone out there who's posts sound educated and smart unlike others who act like they've never learnt how to spell, punctuate, or put sentences together right. And 'them' Americans? Umm... sorry? Have I missed something? I know Japan isn't exactually the most equal society in the world but Women can vote (sure the Americans enforced it when they took over for a bit but still...) I also think that Japan is getting a lot better then it was. I have never been there and never met a Japanese person but that is the impression I get. Didn't they just pass some legistation that the Ainu were offical proper 'indiginous' people, which is a big step!

As for inequality (Xenophobia), I think it is getting a lot better. An example of this is in Love Hina where there is a long running standing joke on how culturally uninformed the normal Japanese charectors are. The (super-cool) Indian girl is always called by her surname as they assume that it is front whereas it is second westen stlye.

As for lolis, isn't it the fault of the people who constently demand them? (To the Author of the original article, I think you fall in this catagory, based on the 'politically correct'comment) And please don't tell me that the west is completely innocent of Lolis too? St. Trinians, anyone? Also, who was it who wrote Lolita to begin with?

As for Fan Service, most decent manga doesn't have as much as the average film, for example... Charlies Angels? Lol... that made me laugh....

As for the American remake, I am also of the opinion that it will suck. The Japanese one is just too good :D But I think there is a slight chance that it could be very very good. I think there is a 25% chance that it will be very good.

Also, lol to whoever said Zac Efron. He would look blooming perfect!!!!!! Pity, he could never act the part and I hate him but... ah well.

As to who of America could play Light or L I think they will do what they generally do and get a British person to play the baddies (Who recons that Detective Inspectorr Yagami will be played as a great American her? lol!) L is a quarter British already, isn't he? lol...
At least now we have Actors who can do a decent American Accent!!! lol...
