- Suzumiya Haruhi-chan no Yuutsu, the official gag manga released last month, is still selling like hot keeki in Akiba, so Kadokawa issued a second print version a few days ago (the first one being sold out by then). In short, "Haruhi becomes small! Kyon goes off digging to a reckless person, Haruhi-chan. Nagato is Otaku and keeps her own pace. 200% cute Mikuru, and Koizumi keeps a good distance with Kyon. The first volume that members of SOS-dan get together."

- Lucky Star's economic impact on the town of Washimiya (where the Washinomiya shrine featured in the anime is located) was 41.7 million yen ($390,000) from last December to May 2008 according to one source, or 25 million yen ($233,000) according to another. Either way, the Lucky Star lolis are well worth their 2D weight in gold.

- "Tokyo Sky Tree" will be the final name of the world's arguably-tallest tower, as announced on Mainichi (Cryo backup). The name was voted from among others such as Tokyo Edo Tower, Mirai Tree and Rising Tower, and it was previously known as New Tokyo Tower or Sumida Tower. Once completed in late 2011 (hopefully), the tower will rise to over 610 meters, and will be located in Sumida, Tokyo. Venturing further into the future, Sky City 1000 - a gigantic 1000-meter tall building whole fucking city, housing over 35,000 residents and 100,000 workers - is in the planning stages at the Takenaka Corporation (and has been for nearly 20 years, in fact). That I'd like to see!
