Kadokawa sure picked on the wrong guys this time. According to
ANN, they sent a cease-and-desist notice to the perfectly harmelss website
AnimeSuki, ordering them to remove all their links pointing to fansubs for the following 11 anime titles:
- Canvas 2: Niji Iro no Sketch
- Demonbane
- Goshuushou-sama Ninomiya-kun
- H2O: Footprints in the Sand
- Junjou Romantica
- Mamoru-kun ni Megami no Shukufuku wo!
- Mushiuta
- Ookami to Koushinryou (Spice and Wolf)
- Rental Magica
- Shuffle! Memories
- Wagaya no Oinari-sama
Not only is AnimeSuki "merely an index of links to other websites", as they clearly explain in their disclaimer (they don't actually host any animes or torrents), but Kadokawa had the nerve to issue this order despite the fact that
none of those 11 animes have been licensed in America so far! And some of them don't even seem to be
published by Kadokawa Shoten - the Japanese parent company of Kadokawa Pictures USA. So, WTF!?
On a sidenote, AnimeSuki hasn't updated its
"Removed at Request" page at this time, but they seem to have complied with Kadokawa's bullyish order.
